Herb McCandless , 85, of Ashdown, AR died Tuesday July 9, 2013.
Mr. McCandless was born April 3, 1928 in Wallace, AR to Grover and Pearl McCandless. He opened Herbs Creamland in 1954, and he was a member of Central Baptist Church in Ashdown, AR. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one great-granddaughter, Macy Matkoff.
He is survived by his wife, Helen McCandless of Ashdown, AR; three sons and daughters-in-law, Lance and Rhodora McCandless of Ashdown, AR, Greg and Vickie McCandless of Dallas, TX, and Bruce McCandless; one brother, Elton McCandless of Ashdown, AR; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday July 11, 2013 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown, AR in the Chapel.
Funeral Services will be Friday July 12, 2013 at 10:00 am at Central Baptist Church in Ashdown, AR with Rev. Ron Chesser officiating. Burial will follow at Ashdown, Cemetery in Ashdown, AR.
Arrangements are under the direction of Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown, AR.
