Thomas (Tommy) Lynn Green Sr., 68, of Ashdown, AR passed away on May 2, 2017 in Ashdown. He was born December 12, 1948 in Sparkman, AR to Mack and Frances Green.
Mr. Green earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Henderson State University where he was a member of Phi Sigma Epsilon fraternity. Tommy was a former coach at North Heights Junior High in Texarkana. He worked as a supervisor for International Paper Company. He was the previous owner of Ashdown Insurance Agency. He was most recently the owner of Green Lawn and Landscaping. Mr. Green was a very active member of First United Methodist Church of Ashdown where he enjoyed participating in mission trips and relief efforts. He had a strong love of sports and coaching. He possessed extraordinary pride and happiness in coaching young people into strong, responsible young adults. Mr. Green was proceeded in death by his parents and his in-laws, Eunice and Evelyn Spigner.
Mr. Green is survived by his wife, Elizabeth S. Green; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Lynn Jr. and Mandy M. Green of Cabot, AR; one brother, Greg Green of Denham Springs, LA; two nieces, Regan Green of New York, NY, and Tamra De Michele of Alexandria, VA; and one grandchild, Lawson Thomas Green.
Visitation will be Friday, May 5, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 at Madden Funeral Home Chapel, Ashdown, AR. A graveside service will be Saturday, May 6, 2017, 10:00 am at Ashdown Cemetery with a church service to follow at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church of Ashdown with Brother Jim Cross officiating. Pallbearers are Greg Green, Reggie Speights, Phillip Daily, Ken McGaughy, Joe Elmore, and Mickey Akins. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to First United Methodist Church of Ashdown, AR.
