Rubyn "Papa" Thomas Castleman, 83, of Ashdown, AR passed away at his home March 26, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Castleman was born February 18, 1932 in Ashdown, AR to Ira Thomas and Maude Pickett Castleman. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Judge Clayton Castleman; and one sister, Lucy Davis. He owned Castleman's Grocery in Ashdown, AR for over 50 years. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Rubyn loved to hunt and he loved God and his family dearly. He was a jokester and he wanted everybody to be laughing and happy at all times.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Peggy Castleman of Ashdown, AR; one daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and Roger Rose of Ashdown, AR; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Shirley Castleman of Ashdown, AR, and John and Brenda Castleman of Ashdown, AR; sister-in-law, Carolyn Castleman of Ashdown, AR; two grandchildren, Roger and his wife Heather Rose of Ashdown, AR, Michelle and her husband Jacob Woods of Ashdown, AR; four great grandchildren, Dylan Rose, Hunter Rose, Hudson Rose, and Jake Woods; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday March 29, 2015 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Madden Funeral Home in the chapel in Ashdown, AR.
Funeral Services will be Monday March 30, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Madden Funeral Home in the chapel in Ashdown, AR with Rev. Brad Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Ashdown Cemetery in Ashdown, AR under the direction of Madden Funeral Home.
