Rachel J. Taylor passed peacefully from this life surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, October 15, 2017.
Rachel was born in Apalachicola, FL on January 6, 1934. She lived and made her home in several locations including Ashdown, AR; Dublin, GA; Granada, MS; Columbus, MS; and finally enjoyed retirement in Ashdown, AR. She was a dedicated and supportive member of her church no matter where she lived, an accomplished bridge player, painter, and seamstress. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She brought sunshine and blessings whereever she was.
Rachel was preceded in death by her late husband, M. Hugh Taylor, Sr. and is survived by four children: Gaye (Bob) Black, Pam (Guy) Dunn, Jenny (John) Purtell, Hugh (Sheryl) Taylor. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
A memorial service with lunch and visitation with the family will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in Ashdown, AR.
