Frances Williams York, 100, of Ashdown, AR passed away June 27, 2016 surrounded by family.

Mrs. York was born October 4, 1915 to James H. and Margaret P. Williams in Ashdown, AR. She was a member of the Little River County Auxiliary , a member of the First United Methodist Church where she also served in the choir, and a member of PEO. She also did the financial records for her husband's farming and construction business. She is preceded in death by her husband, W. D."Bill" York; one brother; and three sisters.

Survivors include one son, Dan York of Ashdown, AR; one daughter, Mary Margaret York Shermer of Ashdown, AR; one sister, Natalie Clark of Clemson, SC; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Visitation will be Thursday June 30, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown, AR.

Funeral Services will be held Friday July 1, 2016 at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church in Ashdown, AR with Rev. Jim Cross officiating. Burial will follow at Ashdown Cemetery in Ashdown, AR under the direction of Madden Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or the First United Methodist Church in Ashdown, AR.
