Frances N. Jackson Williams, 85, of Ashdown, Ark., died Monday, Dec. 4, 2017.
Mrs. Williams was born April 30, 1932, in Arden, Ark. She was co-owner of Ashdown Roller Rink, Jackson Square and founded the first antique mall in the city, The Ashdown Antique Mall, and co-founded Ashdown Memorial Gardens Cemetery; she also attended Millwood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years and father of her children, Earl E. Jackson and by Norman Alexander; her parents Herbert and Birdie Wade; four brothers, W.T. Wade, Thomas Wade, James Wade, and Benjamin Wade; and two sisters, Ella Mae Bowman and Emogene Vanzandt.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas "Sonny" Williams of Winthrop; two sons and one daughter, Reg and Jeanne Jackson of Ashdown, Ron and Cathrine Jackson of Texarkana, Ark., and Becky and Rusty Cowling of Ashdown; six grandchildren, Deanna Jackson of Ashdown, Mark Jackson of Conway, Ark., Brett Jackson of Greenbrier, Ark., Ginger Woodall of New Orleans, Louisiana, Tyler Cowling of Ashdown and Cori Jackson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; four great-grandchildren, Michael Wayne Friday of Ashdown, Marlee Jackson of Conway, Ark., Brycen Jackson of Greenbrier, Ark., and Kirby Cowling of Ashdown; one sister, Nettie Bell Lewis of Texarkana, Texas and special caregivers, Diane King, Millie Walker, Donna DeVasier and the Kindred Hospice staff.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 6, at 2 p.m. at the Madden Funeral home with Brother Travis Young of Millwood Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Ashdown Memorial Gardens under the direction of Madden Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 5, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of Becky and Rusty Cowling, 1702 Edgehill Drive, Ashdown, Ark.
