Charles "Sonny" Cobb, Jr., 81, of Ashdown, Ark. died Monday, June 25, 2018. Mr. Cobb was born on August 6, 1936, in Texarkana, TX to Charles Emmett Sr. and Mary Cobb. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nancy Edwards.
Mr. Cobb attended Ashdown High School and Southern State University. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ashdown. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army and Chief Chemist at Ash Grove Cement in Foreman, Ark.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou Cobb of Ashdown; 3 sons and 1 daughter-in-law, Mett Cobb, Ward and Mollye Cobb, and Trey Cobb all of Ashdown, Ark.; one brother, Jimmy Cobb, of Texarkana, Ark.; one sister, Mary Gin Newton of Ashdown, Ark.; 7 grandchildren, Eligha, Ty, Cade, Conner, Maddox, Cooper, and Colt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 30, at First United Methodist Church in Ashdown, Ark. Jim Cross will be officiating.
Visitation will be Friday, June 29, 6 to 8 p.m., at Madden Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Ashdown Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Ashdown, Ark, or to the Ashdown Cemetery.
